Desaru has changed a great deal in the last decade, and the resort strip along the coast now draws a steady flow of weekend traffic out of Singapore. It is a comfortable run — around ninety kilometres and an hour and a half to two hours — but it is not well served by anything other than road transport, which makes a private van the practical choice rather than just the comfortable one.
