Melaka is close enough from Singapore to work as a weekend, at roughly 250 kilometres and three to three and a half hours on the road. The part people underestimate is what happens once you arrive. The historic core around Jonker Street and the river is narrow, one-way in places and genuinely hard to park in, especially on a weekend when the night market is running. Arriving in a van with a driver means you are dropped at your hotel door and the parking problem is somebody else's. For a group carrying weekend bags through those streets, that is worth more than it sounds.
Most of our Melaka bookings are groups of six to twelve — extended families, sets of friends, colleagues on a break. Priced per van, the fare does not change with the headcount, which usually makes it the cheapest way to move a group of that size once you count everyone. If you want to explore beyond the old town while you are there — Klebang, the coast, a food run out of the centre — ask about a day charter for the second day, where the van and driver stay with you and you set the stops. The two-day Johor and Melaka return rate is often the better structure for a full weekend.

In most cases yes, though a few of the narrowest heritage lanes are genuinely too tight for a van. If yours is one of them the driver will get you as close as the road allows and help with the bags from there.
If you plan to move around beyond the old town, usually yes — you get the van and driver for the day at a fixed rate and set the stops yourself. If you intend to stay in the walkable centre, the one-way transfer is enough.
Three to three and a half hours of driving, plus the checkpoint. A Friday evening departure will feel longer than a Saturday morning one, so tell us your preference and we will suggest a window.
